Nelson University is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Director of Library Services to provide leadership for the University’s learning resources and library operations. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen academic excellence by supporting student success, faculty scholarship, and the spiritual and intellectual life of the campus community.

​The Director will provide strategic oversight of library services, resources, and personnel across all locations. This leader will guide the development of collections, services, and technologies that support traditional, graduate, and online learning environments.

Position Overview
The Director of Library Services is responsible for the leadership and management of library resources, services, personnel, and operations across all university locations. This role oversees public services, reference, circulation, acquisitions, and library instruction while fostering a Christ-centered learning environment and leadership to staff and students.

Primary Responsibilities
·         Provide leadership, supervision, training, and evaluation for all library personnel and locations.
·         Manage daily operations, library budget, and the selection and acquisition of print, digital, and media resources to support academic programs and accreditation standards.
·         Participate in Institutional Effectiveness, including assessment, annual reporting, and data collection for institutional research and accrediting agencies.
·         Develop, implement, and maintain library policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
·         Provide library instruction for orientation and academic courses as requested and promote information literacy.
·         Communicate new resources, services, and initiatives to the university community.
·         Maintain appropriate conduct, safety, and service standards within library facilities.

Qualifications
·         Master’s degree required (Library Science preferred).
·         Knowledge of information technology and library services.
·         Demonstrated leadership, planning, and supervisory ability.
·         Commitment to the University’s Christian mission and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Dean of Academic Services.

Compensation: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
