Position Overview
The Student Support Coordinator serves Nelson Online by providing student support and helps carry out the daily operations of the Nelson Online office. 
 
Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Accuplacer Administrator 
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail for the Nelson Online office
  • Maintain accurate records of Accuplacer utilization and revenue 
  • Manage student conversion applications
  • Manage student workers, schedules, training, and job responsibilities
  • Manage weekly prayer list, emails, and student prayer cards
  • Manage incoming calls and emails to the Nelson Online Office 
  • Document all emails and student interactions in Slate
  • Assist guests who enter the Nelson Online Office
  • Assist Nelson Online with special projects and events as needed
  • Assist online students through the Course Selection and Bill Approval process
  • Assist online Strategies for Student Success (S3) instructors follow up with new students.
  • Assist with scheduling as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Nelson Online Student Support
  • Assist with Student Care communications and follow-up
  • Assist with the development of new Nelson Online retention strategies
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and compilation of Nelson Online data
 
Organizational Relationship
·         Reports to and is accountable to the Assistant Dean for Nelson Online Student Support.
  • Committee membership as assigned.
 
Qualifications
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ
  • High School graduate, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to manage and lead others as assigned
  • Ability to work together as a part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to protect the privacy of education records
  • Ability to serve guests consistently and efficiently
  • Ability to work professionally and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Creative and able to see new ideas through to completion
  • Experience using general office software
  • High level of organizational skills
  • High level of telephone communication skills
  • High level of computer skills
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
